The Sustainability Excellence Centre set up by Emaar MGF consists of the following team members and experts in specific areas of their own right.

Surinder Kumar:  Is a qualified Mechanical and Industrial Engineer along with M. Phil in Sociology. He possesses over 35 years of experience at various positions with the government and private sectors in manufacturing, consultancy, services and infrastructure. While working with Xerox he designed and developed world class Management Review and Reward & Recognition Processes.

His area of expertise revolves around Human Resources, Total Quality Management and Sustainability Management. He is renowned for his skills of operationalizing abstract, philosophy and integrating spirituality into Management Models for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of a business entity. He has served a seed speaker at various UN round table conferences on ‘Mission Spirituality’ He is currently on the steering committee of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) and also a visiting faculty to various business schools of India and abroad for teaching Strategic Management & Ethics.

In his present capacity as Chief Sustainability Officer, he established the Emaar MGF Sustainability Excellence Centre for operationalizing sustainability in sectors like Residential, Commercial, IT Parks & SEZs, Retail and Hospitality as well as Healthcare, Education and Infrastructure sectors.

Shishir Lal:  A post-graduate in Environmental Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, India with more than 10 years of experience in the field of Environment Management.

He has worked on more than 150 EIA projects across different sectors viz. Construction, Mining, Power Plant and Industrial Projects. He has also worked for various donor agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC), USAID etc. on projects related to Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact Assessment/Environmental Management Plan studies, Municipal efficiency, Best practices etc. He has also worked on Clean Development Mechanism for Power Projects.

He is a national expert in the area of Environment, Health and Safety professional with over 15 years experience in designing, implementing and lead auditing the management systems like Environment Management Systems, Global Reporting Initiative,

Occupational Health & Safety, Social Accountability, Quality Management Systems and Clean Development Mechanism. He is also an expert in the area of Soil & Water Conservation, Artificial Recharge, and Water Harvesting Structures. He has conducted several customized training programmes across India on sustainable development.

Rama Nath Pandey:  Is a graduate of Electronic Engineering with more than 17 years of experience in the field of various Managements Systems like Environment System ISO 14001, Quality Management System ISO 9001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System OSHAS 18001 and Social Accountability SA – 8000.

He is an expert on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)/ Environmental Management Plan (EMP) studies for various Housing projects and has excellent networking skills. He is also exposed to Sustainability Management System, Clean Development Mechanism and has worked on various certifications such as ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001 and SA – 8000 in Infrastructure & Housing Projects and Aviation Industries.

Arjun Dutta: A post-graduate in business management with over 11 years experience in regulatory, business and consulting work related to business strategy, marketing research, financial analysis and environment management. 

He possesses international work exposure on the impact of sustainable development on businesses and consumers. Adept at conducting research for developing best practice approaches to promote business sustainability and cleaner production. He has been on the roster of UNEP as a South Asian expert on sustainable production and consumption. He was also a Southern Focal Point of Energy & Climate Change Civil Society Group at UNCSD and an important member of Climate Action Network, South Asia. He has a number of papers on sustainability and environment management to his credit.

Vikas Chand Sharma:  Possesses a Master Degree in Environment Planning along with a Bachelors Degree in Environment Engineering. He has over 6 years of experience in this consultancy and corporate sector. He has worked for various governments, private and international agencies for large number infrastructure and building construction projects.

His area of expertise revolves around environmental impact assessment, computer aid environmental modelling, environment monitoring, preparation of environmental management plan, design and assessment for infrastructure services such as water supply, sewerage system (including design of STP) and rainwater harvesting and presenting. He has defended large number of the cases in Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF), State Pollution Control Board and Public Hearing. While working with LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. he was awarded “Best Performer for Year 2005, for his contribution in North Eastern Region Urban Development Project funded by ADB, Government of India.

Naveen Handa:  Holds a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering along with a bachelor Degree in civil engineering.

After starting his career with NEERI almost 10 years ago and he has worked in the field of Environmental Management in India and Middle East. His expertise lies in Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Management Plan, Sewerage Treatment Plant/ Effluent Treatment Plant, EHS Audits, Solid Waste Management, Hazardous Waste Management, ISO 14000, etc.

Her area of expertise is in the area of management system–training, implementation and auditing. She has work experience with leading management system certification organization like British Institution and SAI Global and was empanelled as an auditor with DNV for ISO 14001. In her career, she has conducted over 200 training programs and has trained approximately 2000 executives in India and overseas.

Shveta Dixit:  She is a distinction holder in Environment Planning from School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi along with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture.

She has exposure in preparation of re-development plans, city development plans, EIA and EMP studies. She was actively involved in Environment Management Measures for Tsunami affected areas of Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. She has several research papers on environmental appreciation of commercial areas, urban renewal projects and environmental assessments to her credit.
